Fourth Annual Meeting UU Church of Eugene 1685 W 13th Ave, Eugene, OR October 19, 2013 10 am to 4pm
Oregon UU Voices for Justice is one of fifteen statewide UU advocacy networks. At our annual meeting UUs from around the state will have a chance to gather to decide statewide advocacy priorities for 2014 and to commit ourselves to working together on these social justice issues in the upcoming year. In 2014 there will be a short session of the state legislature and an election that will probably include a Freedom to Marry ballot initiative. We want to know what you and your congregation are working on and how ORUUVfJ can help partner to make our UU values known in the public square.
We will recap the last year’s activities and give an update on our new organizational structure. We’ll nourish our spirits, hear our keynote speaker Rep. Paul Holvey D-Eugene, special guests Barbara Ross - former state representative and Wy'East UU Fellowship member; and Aubrey Thonvold, Oregon United for Marriage Faith Organizer. We'll enjoy warm fellowship and set a course for the coming year. We’ll order in lunch (donation $5) or bring a sack lunch. Beverages and light refreshments will be on hand. For accommodations for accessibility, more information, or to suggest action issues contact us.
Watch for information about off-site participation.
